Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in Political Science (concentrations in International Relations and Political Theory) and Philosophy from Bradley University, and received a Master of Arts with distinction in Political Philosophy from The University of York, in York, England.
After graduation Ryan eventually found his place at American Public University System (APUS), where he expanded his knowledge of career services and helped to create the Career Services site located AMU and APU’s main pages. Ryan thoroughly enjoys reading and writing about employment-related news, the global economy, U.S. monetary policy, and the job application process and associated topics. In addition to writing for APUS’ Career Services Blog, Ryan has contributed articles to the foreign affairs magazine Diplomatic Courier and had an article published in the 2009 G8 Summit Magazine.

Shun graduated from Morgan State University with a degree in Business Management. Stemming from a desire to positively impact the community, he entered the teaching profession. As a member of the Special Education Department, history and English were his core subjects. He also taught English for Speakers of Other Languages.
Upon discovering a personal need to broaden his experience beyond the classroom, but still wanting to remain within academia, Shun accepted a position at American Public University System as a student advisor in 2008. Later, he moved from the position of student advisor to the Department of Student and Alumni Affairs where he has worked in Career Services as a resume review specialist.
Shun holds the academic process in high esteem. He appreciates having the opportunity to assist students make important life decisions and hopes they are motivated to excel after interacting with him.
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations from Suffolk University in Boston, MA Courtney Sprague went on to obtain her Master of Science in Applied Educational Psychology with a concentration in College Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University.
Courtney’s passion for career development developed in her first semester of graduate school while taking a Career and Vocational Counseling class. Before settling in at American Public University System (APUS) as a Career Coach, Courtney enjoyed working with various university career centers.
As a Certified Federal Career Counselor and Certified Federal Job Search Trainer, Courtney is able to assist students with all facets of the federal application process. Courtney thoroughly enjoys working with students and alumni from various educational and professional backgrounds and supporting them with major life transitions and their career goals.
